Workshops

Tools to Bring:  In most cases, everything necessary to complete a project will be provided for you for each Workshop.  If there are additional supplies or materials required, they will be listed in the Workshop Description and/or you will be provided with a list at the time of your registration.

  • Basic Craft Kit (BCK) – craft mat; scissors; paper trimmer; heat gun; favorite wet adhesives; ink blending tools; distress inks (Vintage Photo, Tea Dye, Black Soot); ruler; pencil; paper or small notebook
  • Advanced Craft Kit (ACK) – everything from the Basic Craft Kit above, but also includes X-Acto knife; cutting mat; brayer; bone folder; water spritzer or mini mister; moist towelettes or baby wipes; wooden toothpicks; sanding block or emery boards; Crop-A-Dile; stapler; tape runner or glue sticks; pop-up dots.

Please note that photos of any Workshop project as seen on the Website, Blog, Facebook, or other social media may vary from the actual project.  As well, project samples may also vary from actual projects.  While we do our best to provide students with materials needed to create projects as they’ve been depicted, these revisions may be required due to changes in product or availability of products from manufacturers, and are outside our control.  It may also become necessary for a Teacher to alter the design of the actual project to accommodate these changes.

“Ruby Mae Jewelry” Workshop with Leah Williams

Join us as we welcome Leah Williams to the CraftFusion Family for this new and exciting Workshop!  Many of you may know Leah as the “Happy Gal” behind Ruby Mae Jewelry, and now’s our chance to create side-by-side with her in a fun, low stress atmosphere.  No experience is necessary to attend, and all supplies and materials will be included.  Learn to work with tools, post beads, and attach items to chains as you create 1 to 3 items of your choosing including necklaces, bracelets, earrings, lanyards, zipper pulls, and key chains.  If you have items you’d like to incorporate into your pieces, please bring them with you.  Some items to consider are buttons, earrings, brooches, and chains.  Each finished piece will be personal and unique, with no one leaving the Workshop with the same.  Make your reservations early because SEATING IS LIMITED TO 10 students only, and with the popularity of Leah’s Workshops, spaces are expected to sell quick.  Call now to save your space!

Supplies to Bring:  All supplies and materials will be provided, but if you have any special items you’d like to add to your pieces to make them unique and personal, please bring them.

“2017 Favorite Moments Accordion Box” Workshop with Jessica Tucker

Saturday, February 25, 2017           10:00am-4:00pm            Cost: $65.00

Join Jessica as she shares more exciting tips & tricks in the great “World of Altering!”  In her newest Workshop, you’ll learn how to use a new product that’s all the rave . . . Mica Powders from Prima! . . . as well as the new Tim Holtz Distress Crayons and DecoArt Media Distressing products.  This Workshop will be jam packed with techniques from 3 big-hitter brands in distressing and you definitely won’t want to miss it!  Each person will begin with an ordinary plain-Jane box, but will leave the Workshop with a uniquely decorated box with accordion pockets inside, perfect for keeping all your special memories throughout the year.  Since everyone will decorate their box in their own style using different color combinations of Mica Powders and embellishments, no two will look alike, but each one will be gorgeous!  You’ll also learn how to create the accordion scrapbook within the box with a simple brown bag technique.  Everything you’ll need to create your memory box will be available in the Workshop, but if you have any special embellishments you’d like to add, please bring them with you.  Make sure to bring your favorite picture from January of this year, as you’ll get to finish the January month of the box.  What a great way to keep up on your scrapbooking in such a fun, quick, and creative way!  Make your reservations early because SEATING IS LIMITED TO 8 students only, and this Workshop is sure to sell out quick!  As a bonus, there will be fun giveaways during the Workshop!

Supplies to Bring:  Basic Craft Kit (BCK), including craft sheet or mat; heat tool; scissors; two paint brushes (a thin fine bristle and a normal thick bristle); and a favorite photo from January.  If you have any special embellishments you’d like to add, please bring them with you, too.  All other supplies and materials will be provided.

“Manifesto Boards” Workshop with Terry Parvan

Thursday, March 2, 2017           11:00am-3:00pm            Cost: $69.00

Join Terry as you create a 10″x20″ flat canvas board that you’ll make pretty with papers, paints, and more before adding your words.  You’ll be able to hang your finished board from a wire-wrapped handle so you can hang it to see easily each day.  Terry will also have charms available for you to add to you board as you go if you like.  Before arriving at the Workshop, start collecting words and phrases that resonate with you (Terry has 80 on hers!).  Ask yourself, “who am I”, then tell yourself “this is who I am” or “this is who I want to be.”  Magazines make a great resource for finding words that leap out or have meaning to you or you can type others up on your computer using 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20 font sizes in different type styles.  Terry will have lots of background papers, scrapbook papers, colored papers, pencils, stamps, paints, inks and more for you to create your collage before you even begin to layer on your words, but if you have any that have special significance to you, bring them with you.  This is your personal affirmation board, so you’ll be making it your own.  Spaces are expected to fast in this new and exciting Workshop, so call to make your reservations early because SEATING IS LIMITED TO 12 students only.  Call now and save your space before it sells out!

“Mixed Media Mermaids” Workshop with Jessica Madaglia

Saturday, March 4, 2017           10:00am-3:00pm            Cost: $45.00

Join Jessica as she returns with another amazing mixed media project that you won’t want to miss!  Come and learn a variety of mixed media techniques, as you swim away with three gorgeous sirens.  You’ll be stamping, embossing, crackling, and more, so get ready to roll up your sleeves and get messy!  Each mermaid measures about 8-1/4″ high (top of head/headdress to curve of tail) and will be constructed from heavy cardstock, with jointed arms ready to be posed as you want.  You’ll also want to dress up your mermaids with some of the wonderful charms and embellishments that will be provided, but if you have your own favorites, please bring them with you.  No two finished mermaids will look alike, but everyone will leave with 1 to 3 complete pieces, each one unique and one-of-a-kind.  Make your reservations early because SEATING IS LIMITED to 10 students only, so call now to save your space before it sells out!

Supplies to Bring:  Basic Craft Kit (BCK), including craft sheet; embossing (heat/craft) gun; strong quick dry glue; your favorite color palette of Distress Inks, Stains, and Crayons (Jessica will have some to use); and apron (optional).  If you want to add quotes, bring your favorites, printed out on cardstock in 12-14 point font (Chit Chat also works well).  All other supplies and materials will be provided.

“Zen Doodles” Workshop with Kathi Hofferth

ATCs, or Artist Trading Cards, are all the rage!  Create 15 cards at home at your own pace, on your own schedule . . . all the same or each one different . . . based on your choice of four different themes.  Then join us at this monthly NO CHARGE event and have fun as you trade with other artists.  Pick just 1, or mix-and-match from 2, 3, or all 4 themes, but start “thinking big in a small way”.  From experienced to novice, you’ll definitely want to see what it’s all about for yourself!  Come and share with others, or just stop in and see what’s going on with other artists, ask questions, share information, have fun, or simply become inspired!  Call for more details, but we look forward to seeing you there!

“BYOP Mini Easel Album” Workshop with Sherry Bamsey

Saturday, March 11, 2017           10:00am-4:00pm            Cost: $30.00

Join Sherry for another adventure in this new and unique concept in mini album construction and design!  All the chipboard and cardstock necessary to complete your basic easel album will be supplied in your project kit and you’ll decorate with your favorite patterned paper.  Your finished easel album will be 7-1/2″ x 6″ with 4 doubled-sided chipboard pages that flip over the spiral binding, giving you a total of 8 pages to add your photos and treasured memories.  When completed, your album will have pockets, flaps, and waterfall features, and when not in use, can be displayed upright or folded flat for storage.  To decorate your finished album, you’ll need at least 6-10 sheets of your favorite 12″ x 12″ papers.  Paper pads such as those from Graphic 45, DCWV, Paper Studio, or individual sheets of your favorite pattern papers work best.  (Sherry used the beautiful new collection from KaiserCraft, “A Cherry Tree Lane”, to construct the sample album)  Anyone wishing to use the same papers Sherry used in creating her sample album, let us know when making your reservation to ensure you’ll have everything you need (you’ll also receive a discount!).  As with all of Sherry’s exciting Workshops, you’ll want to make your reservations early because SEATING IS LIMITED TO 8 students only, and seats are beginning to fill already!  Call to save your space before it sells out!

Supplies to Bring:  Basic Craft Kit (BCK), including craft sheet; paper trimmer; scissors; ScorTape (3/8″); your favorite wet adhesive; tape runner; Crop-A-Dile; corner rounder; SCOREBOARD; bone folder; and your favorite pattern papers for decorating (see above).  This album also uses a lot of ScorTape, so be sure to have plenty on hand.  Optional Supplies:  Cinch Machine (not necessary, but if you have one, it would help time wise!)

“Hippity Hoppity Easter Bunny” Workshop with Veronica Montenieri

Join Veronica for another exciting addition to her Woodshop Workshops.  As with all of Veronica’s Workshops, your finished projects will not only make home decor pieces, but great holiday gift items, as well.  And as we all know, it’s never too early to start decorating for any holiday!  Your first project will be a large Easter Bunny measuring 34″ tall, plus his two adorable eggs standing 12″ and 16″ tall ready for delivery.  All pieces will be pre-sanded and put together ready for you to put your own touch to them.  Veronica will bring an assortment of paints, stains, trims, and ribbons for you to use, but feel free to bring any additional trims or accessories you’d like to use to dress up your pieces.  Make your reservations early because SEATING IS LIMITED TO 8 students only, so call now to save your space because this is another one that’s sure to sell out fast!
